Reggie Miller 1994-1995 Season
In the summer of 1994, Reggie participated as the tri-captain on the U.S. National team at the Basketball World Championships. He was the second-leading scorer for the U.S. with a 17.1 ppg average and helped lead them to gold medal. During the NBA season, Reggie led the Pacers to their then- club-record 52 wins as they captured their first division title in the NBA. Individually, he was voted to start in the All-Star game and was named All-NBA third team. That year in the playoffs, the Pacers finally beat the Knicks, but then lost to the Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference Finals despite Miller averaging 25.5 ppg. This year is perhaps best known as the year Reggie scored 8 points in 8.9 seconds against the New York Knicks. The Pacers were down six with 16.9 seconds left when Miller hit a three. Immediately after, he stole the inbounds pass, dribbled to just beyond the three point line, turned and hit another three. The Knicks then missed two free-throws and Miller hit two free throws to pull out the stunning 107-105 victory.
