AL HORFORD TO JOIN SPORTSOUTH BROADCAST OF HAWKS-CELTICS GAME ON APRIL 9
Two-time All-Star will provide color commentary alongside Bob Rathbun and Dominique Wilkins
ATLANTA (April 7, 2014) -- Atlanta Hawks forward/center Al Horford will join the SportSouth broadcasting team as a color commentator when the Hawks take on the Boston Celtics on April 9 (7:30 p.m. tipoff) at Philips Arena.
Horford, who is out for the remainder of the season while recovering from right pectoral muscle surgery, is slated to call the second and third quarters of the game alongside play-by-play man Bob Rathbun and color analyst Dominique Wilkins.
Horford, a telecommunications major at the University of Florida, was an analyst for Telemundo’s coverage of Olympic men’s basketball games in 2008 and was also was the first player in the league to co-direct a night of programming at the NBA TV studios in 2009.
Hawks fans will have the opportunity to interact with Horford on social media during the game. Beginning Tuesday, fans can send questions for Horford to @SportSouth via Twitter with the hashtag #AskAl15.
